• Three of American author John Fox Jr.'s classic westerns from the early 1900s are bound together in this Kindle book: The Last Stetson, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine & The Heart Of The Hills
The Last Stetson (A Novella)
The Stetson-Lewallen feud was not yet over. It may have seemed so when Rome Stetson, the last but one of his name, and Jasper Lewallen, the last but one of his, put their guns down.
They fought with bare fists on a high ledge above old Gabe's mill one morning at daybreak. The man who was beaten was to leave the mountains; the other was to stay at home and have peace. Jasper was fairly whipped but when Rome let him up he proved treacherous and ran for his gun.
The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, A Novel (1908)
A romance novel/western novel which became Fox's most successful novel. It was in the top ten bestselling novels for 1908 and 1909 and adapted numerous times for both stage and screen.
The novel inspired the same-titled song published in 1913.
The Heart Of The Hills, A Novel (1913)
Jason and Mavia, two children of the Cumberland region, are sent to the blue grass county to attend school. The story is set against the backdrop of an old feud between the Hawns and the Honeycutts, and a tobacco growers' war
