Margaret Fell speaking

Margaret Fell spoke for herself and should do so here. Her writings, like her acts and words in her lifetime, were graceful but forthright, with strong emotion yet sensitive to others’ feelings. Unlike many Quakers she was not given to self-dramatizing. A powerful personality, even in the eyes of George Fox, she will not neatly fit the images we bring from other great women we have known.
