Plucky 1920s Stanford co-ed Iris Cooper spends Easter vacation at the Brockhurst estate and encounters another murder mystery, this one involving mummies and séances. Iris teams up with wisecracking newspaperman Jack Clancy to solve the case.
“This charming mystery has a lot of the ingredients of a 1920s pastiche: a sweet, perky heroine, a brash-fast-talking newshound, a wacky family (including a debutante) … and more. Its lovely period color and gentle wit are great fun. It all works delightfully.” - Publishers Weekly
“Mystery fans will relish this return to the Roaring ‘20s … Beck does a stylish job of re-creating the period flavor.” - The Seattle Times.
“Beck has created a classic puzzle. At the same time, Beck has fun with the conventions of the time period…it all feels exactly right.” - Bellevue [WA] Journal-American
